2007 USAB Region 4 Director Candidate Statements

1. Steve Kearney - Challenger

 I have served as a board member of USA Badminton since 1994. I am a
 Past President, Olympic Player Development Chair and Treasurer of USA
 Badminton. I have served several terms as USOC representative for the
 board. I am the current President of the United States Badminton
 Education Foundation which supports the education and promotion of
 Badminton in the United States. I was past Vice-President of the
 Southern region.

 As the team leader for USA Badminton for the Sydney and Athens Olympic
 games, I have gained significant experience in working with athletes
 at all levels and understand the complexities of being an athlete
 training for your goals. With this experience I support all coaching
 training currently going on in USAB. Regional growth within USA
 Badminton is important and supporting other states programs is a
 priority. I also support using the USAB Tournament software for all
 sanctioned tournaments so we can establish a true ranking of adults,
 seniors and juniors. Thank you for your support.

2. Alan Mills - Incumbent

I wish to continue to promote Region 4 within USAB, in particular with
easier and greater access to funding, promoting more grass roots benefits to
members and more openess about USAB activities.  USAB should represent all
members and should strive to reach out to the regions.
